  We went to the Smokies to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day living. Grand View was the perfect place. It's a little difficult to get to but well worth the trip. The owner would do well to cut a few trees to bive a better view of the mountains and they really need to buy a new microwave. The kitchen was pretty well equipped except for the "dime store" microwave. The unit was nicely furnished and our bed was comfortable. A/C worked well. The driveway is VERY difficult to enter and exit and the small parking space is difficult to maneuver. Overall Grandview is a very comfortable place to relax and enjoy some peace and quiet.

  This chalet is very nice for a 2 couple vacation....the view is gorgeous!!! I wish it were a bit higher up in the mountains but it doesn't take away from the beauty you see from the living room and bedrooms! One thing that wasn't so fun was the driveway.....if you don't have a truck it can be tricky and damage the front end and bumper of your car. We found that if the back passengers got out while pulling in and pulling out of the very steep drive way, the rear and front end of the car didn't hit the pavement! I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS CHALET!!! Wonderful!

  We had a grand time at the Grandview. The house had everything we needed and was the perfect size for our group. The view was great and we even got to see bears just one house up the street. Our only complaint was the driveway. It is not suited for multiple vehicles and with the rain, my car almost didn't make it up the steep incline.

  This was a very nice cabin, and a great place to relax. The view from the deck was wonderful, the property management company was fantastic and I would recommend staying here. The one "surprise" was the driveway. It is actually very steep and short. Getting out of the driveway after a rain was tricky, the van was in low gear and the tires were spinning a little, but it was still manageable.

  I fully expected the description of our cabin to be exaggerated for sales purposes but upon checking in we were pleasantly surprised to find that it not only met, but exceeded our expectations. The view was not just "Grand", it was spectacular, we never even noticed neighbors on either side, it was quiet, secluded, clean, spacious, comfortable... And the staff at the office was friendly and courteous. I couldn't have asked for more.

  The house was very nice but when we first got there we saw 2 bears buy our place. The hot tub outside was not working fully either. But other than that we had a wonderful stay. Only thing is they should have flat screens in the rooms.

  I loved everything about the house. It was very beautiful and roomy. The only thing I didn't like was the driveway. It scraped the bottom of my car. We had to pull the car out the driveway first. Then everyone else walked up the hill to get in. Besides

  Our stay at the Grandview was very enjoyable all in all. The location was nice for a wonderful view, a litte diffulty in manuevering the mountain roads at first, but after a time or 2 it was fine. The driveway at this particular property was terrible. Luckily we had a 4 wheel drive or we would have had a problem getting up the driveway. I do believe they should make the driveway more user friendly. My husband was very upset when he initially saw how steep the driveway was. Almost created a major argument between us, but I smoothed it over. But my husband was right in saying management should definitely do something about the driveway. Other than that, we loved it and want to go back. A few cobwebs were visible here and there, but we had a nice time and would rate it to be very clean. The internet and hot tub didn't initially work, but they were repaired in a timely fashion. We will more than likey go back sometime in the next year or so.

  I believe I can speak for all guests that accompanied me by saying,'It was wonderful.' There was only one problem we had and that was the hot tub needs servicing. We had a problem and the maintenance staff gave it prompt attention,but the temperature control needs to be replaced. It got pretty HOT!!! I almost forgot the most important part-WE saw a BEAR right on the main road outside our front was a very exciting weekend, thanks so very much.

  The driveway proved to be a problem, but we made due. The hot tub and one of the jacuzzi's didn't work when we got there, but they fixed it. Overall I'am very pleased. We have told several people about this place. We loved it. We didn't want to leave. We loved the Chalet itself. Perfect for two couples. We also loved the view.

  The only problems that I had with the property were....the parking was absolutely terrible, there was only one que stick for the pool table with a tip, the hot tub controls were not in good working order, couldn't get the internet to work. Other than this everything was fine.

  The only disappointment was the driveway. There is a steep slope and we were in a minivan that is low to the ground. The only way we could get into the driveway without scraping the bottom of our van was for everyone to get out at the street and walk down the hill to the driveway.

  I marked 3 stars with the property location only because of the driveway. It is damaging to the vehicle and unsafe to enter or leave. The vehicle bottoms out and the front and rear bumper will drag no matter how you approach the drive. This should be reworked and it would impact our decision as to staying there again. The property was great other than that issue. We enjoyed the stay very much. To exit the drive, I would turn right, go to the curve and turn around and pick up everyone at roadside. To enter, reverse the procedure. Beautiful chalet, well equiped, very clean and met or exceded our expectations other than the driveway. Thanks for the opportunity to respond. Whit Smith

  The cabin was spacious and comforatble although the beds were a little on the soft side.
  
  A couple of comments which others potential visitors may find useful:-
  
  1. The gradient of the Drive is so steep that it could only be used by a 4 wheel drive vehicle - shame that there was no mention of this as we had to park our rental car on the side of the road a 100 yards or so from the Property
  
  2. We were disappointed that there was no Information Folder provided by American Monutain Rentals - we saw an Information Folder when we visited some friends who were staying in another Cabin which they had rented from American Mountain Rentals. The folder supplied information about the Cabin and facilities in the local area.
  
  3. It would be nice if some basic food ingredients were supplied such as salt, pepper (there was a salt and pepper set at the cabin but no salt or pepper inside!), sugar - we were sure that previous occupants would have left some such items but they had clearly been taken away, presumably, by the Cleaners - again at our friend's cabin they found basic items had been several items which had been left by previous occupiers including cooking oil - our friends were grateful for the use of such items.

  We had a wonderful this year in Gtlinburg. A beautiful chalet to come back to at the end of the day. View was great with the hot tub overlooking the trees. A super clean and well maintained chalet. Huge rooms and had a big screen tv and cable and internet access. The staff at the office were very helpful and courteous. Mike McQueen was very helpful with directions to the chalet and with questions we later talked to him about in the area. I higly recommend A Grandview to others visiting the area. Thanks to all at American Mountain Rentals for their hospitality.
