  We loved the cabin and we saw lots of wild life from the windows, such as a bear and a turkey. The only aggravating things about the cabin is that the furniture in the living room is completely bottomed out and miserable on your back to sit in for long. Also, the kitchen was not equipped as expected by the cleaning crew: no dish soap, no dishwasher detergent, only one towel & dishcloth for 3-night stay, no potholder, no spatula. We had to purchase those items in town.

  I had a blast while i was in Pigeon Forge. American Mountain rentals was an amazing company. I would definitely go through them again. the height of the cabin was a little high. but overall the cabin was amazing.

  We had very much fun at the cabin, are kids loved the ride up the mountain. We would stay again in the furture. The only thing was maybe put one of those automatic air freshners in to make it have a good CLEAN smell.

  The Nature's Retreat Cabin was a wonderful weekend getaway retreat! The cabin was clean and the staff was very polite and professional! My only complaint was that in the description of the cabin and location... it did not say that I was going to have to drive 1.1 miles up a steep mountain! Other than that, I love this cabin!!!   The staff at the rental office was very friendly. The cabin was beautiful. We loved the interior and we had ample room. Although the road up to the cabin had a lot of twisting turns to get up to the cabin, never was there a problem when encountering another vehicle coming down. We saw an 8-point buck and other various wildlife. Definitely would use this rental company again for our stay in the Pigeon Forge area. Next time will bring more family and rent a larger place.

  Kitchen could use a better selection of silverware, pots, pans & serving bowls. Beds were GREAT! Several light bulbs burned out. Loved the location, but sure wouldn't want to get caught there during bad weather.

We are sorry you found the silverware and such not to your liking and we do an inventory every couple months to keep our cabins properly stocked. I'm also sorry you found a couple lights out.   We spent out honeymoon at natures retreat. We booked it last minute and everyone we spoke to were very helpful. We got to the cabin and it was WAY more than we expected. The cabin was beautiful! We had a great stay and leaving was the hardest. I would reccomend this to anyone and we will definately be back!!

  It would have been nice to have a vacuum available in a pet-friendly cabin. Especially during fall/winter when the leaves get tracked in on the paws.The downstairs bedroom could use a dresser so you have somewhere to put your clothes.

  Everytime we rent a cabin in this area, it always ends up being further out of town than we expect. This time, its closeness to Pigeon FOrge was great, however, the 1.1 mile trip up the mountain to get to it was unexpected. This made the guest that was with me very uncomfortable because of the winding roads. It also rained part of the time that we were there and my husband was worried about our traction getting back and forth up the mountain. The cabin itself was well suited for our needs, it was the location that we were very disappointed in.

  Our only gripes about the whole trip were that our van has some difficulty getting up the "road" to the cabin, and the fool staying in a cabin above us who believed that the road was a.) his and his alone, b.) a rally car course in which speed was important, and c.) he was invincible and could drive on either side of the road.
  
  Apart from those items the cabin was nice and clean, the hot tub hot and the a/c cold.

  We arrived after dark and it would have been helpful to know what kind of terrain we would be traveling to get to the cabin; very steep,sharp curves. All in all, it was a nice stay. Wonderful view once you get up there.

  We return to this cabin every year because we find it extremely convenient to area attractions, yet far enough off the beaten path to relax and enjoy the calmness of nature - which is why we vacation in the Smokies. The cabin is a true log cabin - comfortable but not "fancy". We love the rock fireplace and a "real" fire. The hot tub and pool table keep us busy, and being pet friendly allows us to bring our four-legged family member along. We jokingly call Nature's Retreat "our cabin in the Smokies"! American Mountain Rentals personnel have always been most friendly and accomodating both over the phone and in person. It's like home to us - we'll keep coming back!
